Shanghai, September 18, 2026 — On September 14, 2026, the School of Business and Management (SBM) at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) welcomed a delegation of 50 members from the Brazilian group of the 2026 China Cooperative International Executive Study Tour Program.

The delegation was composed of senior executives, including presidents and directors, of cooperatives from across Brazil, spanning multiple sectors such as credit, healthcare, dental care, telecommunications, food and consumer products, postal credit, education, and transportation. Most members came from cities including Rio de Janeiro, Rio do Norte, and Petrópolis. The diverse composition and strong industry representation of the visiting group offered a rich practical perspective for Sino-Brazilian exchanges on cooperative governance, fintech, and digital transformation.

The School arranged a dedicated lecture and exchange session for the delegation, delivered by Professor Xiaolan Yang, with China's fintech development as the theme. Drawing on China's practices and typical cases, Professor Yang systematically introduced how the development of technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain has driven the transformation and upgrading of China's financial market. She highlighted the application prospects of fintech in serving small and micro enterprises, empowering the real economy, and enhancing the accessibility of financial services, vividly presenting the practical achievements of inclusive finance development in China.

The lecture was met with an enthusiastic response, with participants actively raising questions. They engaged in in-depth discussion with Professor Yang on topics including the relationship between banks and payment platforms such as Alipay, the security and privacy protection of mobile payments, and the digital RMB (e-CNY).

Through this fintech-focused lecture and exchange, the visiting members gained substantial insights and were deeply impressed by Shanghai's urban vitality, openness and innovation, and its convenient mobile payment experience. They also expressed keen expectations for more exchanges and cooperation with Shanghai International Studies University in the future.

This reception showcased the School of Business and Management's teaching and research strengths in international education, fintech, and business and management, while also building a bridge for mutual learning between China and Brazil in the fields of cooperatives and fintech. Moving forward, the School will continue to leverage its multilingual, cross-cultural, and international platform advantages to further deepen international executive study tours and industry-academia-research collaboration.
